Spreadsheet-based simulation of closed ball milling circuits

Here, the results of Lupin mine grinding simulations using COMSIM and BMCS software and their comparison with measured particle size distribution are presented.Three data sets supplied by Lupin mine, operated by Echo Bay Mines, in Canada, were used to validate predictions made by ball mill and hydrocyclone models (Farzanegan, 1998) implemented in COMSIM. Fig. 7 shows the Lupin grinding circuit,Advanced Controller for Grinding Mills: Results from a,,Ball Mill Grinding Circuit The ball mill is in closed circuit with a sump and three cyclone classifiers. The ore and trim water are added to the ball mill and the outflow from the ball mill goes to a sump where additional water is added. The slurry from the ball mill is pumped out of a sump into two cyclone separators. The underflow from the cyclone is returned to the ball mill. Balls are added periodically to the millChapter - M MODELLING, SIMULATION, OPTIMIZATION,Autogenous Grinding (SAG) mill in closed circuit with a hydrocyclone package. In terms of a specified circuit product size which is used to differentiate between "coarse" or oversize material and "fines" or undersize material, these basic functions are (a) breakage of the coarse material and (b) removal of the fines. It was proposed that it may be useful to relate circuit,Grinding Circuit - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics,Grinding circuits are fed at a controlled rate from the stockpile or bins holding the crusher plant product. There may be a number of grinding circuits in parallel, each circuit taking a definite fraction of the feed. Even though many ores require fine grinding for maximum recovery, most ores liberate a large percentage of the minerals during the first pass through the grinding unit. Thus, if the free minerals can be immediately removed from the ball mill classifier circuit, there is little chance for overgrinding. This is actually what has happened wherever Mineral Jigs or Unit,

Should a ball mill grind be required, the relationship of the length to the diameter of the mill is important. Feed and product screen analyses, and the type of circuit (open or closed), dictate the proper diameter to length ratio of a mill. Characteristics of the short mill: Material is within the mill a shorter length of time, resulting in a product with less fines. The larger the mill,Ball Mill - RETSCH - powerful grinding and homogenization,RETSCH is the world leading manufacturer of laboratory ball mills and offers the perfect product for each application.
